
Six hackers who diverted ₦7.7 billion worth of airtime & data from an unnamed telecoms company, were arrested in a coordinated arrest in Kano, Kaduna & Abuja.
Apparently, the telcom noticed unauthorized activities within its billing and payment system. Then later discovered their internal staff credentials had been compromised.
After a coordinated effort in October, they were tracked to Kano and Kastina, and later Abuja. Proceeds from the “business”, traced in their accounts.
The suspects are Ahmad Bala, Karibu Mohammed Shehu, Umar Habib, Obinna Ananaba, Ibrahim Shehu, and Masa’ud Sa’ad.
Two mini plaza’s, 400 laptops, 1,000 phones, two residential buildings, cash in bank and Toyota RAV-4 was recovered. They’d be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
