
Air Force To Establish New Operational Base In Birnin Gwari

The Nigerian Air force (NAF) says it will soon establish a Forward Operating Base in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, disclosed this during a working visit to the area.
According to him, it is part of the federal government’s efforts in tackling rural armed banditry and kidnapping in the area and other neighbouring states in the North West zone of the country.
The proposed base brings the number of Forward Operating Bases in Kaduna to four with two in the southern part of the state and two in Birnin Gwari located in the central part.
Speaking at the palace of the Emir of Birnin Gwari, Zubairu Jibril Mai-Gwari, after inspecting the proposed site for the base, Air Marshal Abubakar gave an assurance that the Nigerian Airforce will work round the clock with other security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the troubled community.
He also stated that the 18 new aircraft provided by the Federal Government to NAF would help to overcome the security challenges faced in the country.
On his part, the Emir of Birnin-Gwari, Zubairu Mai Gwari thanks the Federal and state governments for not relenting in ensuring that the security challenges in Birnin-Gwari are addressed.
The Chief of Air Staff was accompanied during the tour by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Chief of Training and Operations, Chief of Logistics, Commander, Base Services Group and other senior officers
