The 24th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) takes place in Calgary this week and ARDA is looking forward to meaningful engagements with key stakeholders on the African Downstream Energy Transition Roadmap – a truly African perspective on why cleaner fuels (LPG for clean cooking, efficient storage & distribution infrastructure and cleaner primary energy sources for power) are fundamental to reducing near-term energy poverty on the continent while pursuing longer-term objectives for mature renewable technologies.
At WPC 2023, ARDA will be sharing its perspectives on the future of sustainable refining and petrochemicals operations in Africa, and how they will contribute to a robust, intra-African oil & gas industry during today’s CEO session titled: “Market Outlook for Petrochemicals and Refineries of the Future”.
During this session, which includes executives from the US, Europe and Saudi Arabia, ARDA will also share plans for our association’s first-ever Investment Forum to be held in April next year during our ARDA Week 2024 conference in Cape Town.
ARDA will also look to engage global players during the upcoming International Trade Association Leadership Roundtable on Tuesday 19th September 19 hosted by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Additionally, ARDA will be participating this week on panels coordinated by the Africa Energy Futures Forum on Wednesday 20th September and the Nigeria Energy Business Exchange on Thursday 21stSeptember.
Ultimately, ARDA stands ready to support all its Members, partners and key stakeholders to deliver on a robust, pan-African Downstream Energy Transition Plan that balances the peculiar needs of Africa’s growing population and the need for energy poverty reduction with the broader global energy transition agenda.
