Nigeria apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is allegedly selling job placement for as much as N3 million.
In the deal, applicants are asked to pay N3 million for a job placement.
Mr. John, who prefers only his first name mentioned, narrated to WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) how he was asked to pay the sum of N3 million for a job placement at CBN.
Also, Mr. Idowu, narrated his ordeal how he almost paid N3 million to get CBN job but was stopped by an official of the bank.
An insider source in CBN who did not want his me mentioned, told WAR, although people pay money to get job in CBN, but that is not the standard practice.
He added that two employees of CBN who were caught in the act of job sale were sacked while others are placed under investigation.
Another staff of the CBN, told WAR, paying N3 million for CBN job does not guarantee getting job at CBN. He disclosed that some persons who paid money to buy CBN job ended up not getting the job.
A senior staff of CBN who spoke to WAR via telephone, but did not want her name mentioned, condemned the act and has appealed to job seekers to follow due process, saying CBN does not sell jobs but offer opportunity to the most qualified persons.
When WAR sought the explanation of CBN regarding sale of jobs, it declined comment.
