HE Biodun Oyebanji was physically present yesterday as we visited our youths under the “BRING BACK THE YOUTHS IN AGRIBUSINESS PROGRAMS ” in conjunction with YSJ Farms Ltd under a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
This visit will be the second time within the last 3 months that the Governor will be at the Farms. He was there during the commencement of the planting season. The farm performance is very encouraging despite the initial long drought spell. We went to Oke Ako, Iyemero and Gede. The tour continues on Tuesday as we will be visiting Emure, Ikere and Aramoko.
At present, about 913 youths are gainfully engaged in this scheme with the Government providing the necessary infrastructure and support.
+ free land clearing .
+ subsidized inputs.
+ free fertiliser allocation.
+ free transportation.
At yesterday meeting, the Governor promised further assistance like provision of farm houses, buses, rural electrification, construction of rural roads through RAAMP intervention and provision of farm consumables.
We will continue to scale this initiative with more support like continuous land clearing and provision of irrigation systems for all year food production. Security outfits have been set up in all the farm clusters and we will continue to improve on it.
Market is never a problem as we planned to satisfy local first and sell the rest outside the state. Storage and aggregation after harvest have been worked out.
