Support groups under the auspices of the Amalgamated All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Group have called on the national leadership of the party and the security agencies to intervene in the crisis rocking the group in order to prevent bloodshed.
National director of publicity and strategic communications, Dr. Ahmed Saleh, in a press conference on the leadership crisis rocking the support groups, said about three months ago, the APC National Working Committee (NWC), endorsed the Amalgamated APC Support Groups (AASG), as the platform for the coordination and management of the over 2050 support groups that have been registered by the party.
Saleh said the mandate, as handed down to the group, includes, managing and coordinating the support groups in preparation for the upcoming general elections specifically, the amalgamated groups are required to mobilise grassroots support for the party, from the ward local governments and the states, including the FCT.
“The party also required the group to prepare a template and work plan as a road map for the execution of the mandate. However, it is regrettable that three months after, very little progress has been made, due to several reasons, such as bothering on the poor and incompetent leadership of Dr. Nasiru Ladan, as the director general.

“This has created division among members and group leaders, who have since expressed their desire for a change of leadership. Concerned about the loss of confidence in the DG, the other management team wrote letters to the party and other relevant bodies, requesting their intervention,” he said.
He further said that they are glad to inform members that their grievances are currently receiving attention at the national secretariat of the party.
“We have received reports that Dr. Nasiru Ladan has employed the services of something that are now laying siege at the headquarters of the Amalgamated support groups in Abacha Estate, Zone 4.
“We hereby urge the National Headquarters of our party and the security agencies to take serious note of this situation and intervene to prevent bloodshed, which is the objective of Dr. Nasiru Ladan.
“Meanwhile, all efforts are ongoing to refocus the Amalgamated Support Groups towards ensuring that we achieve our core mandate of winning the election landslides for our party. We remain loyal and committed members of our great party, APC,” he said.
