Ekiti state government has started the distribution of hand sanitizers to all public primary, secondary schools and palaces in the state as one of the measures to avoid the contact of coronavirus.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Mrs. Mojisola Yaya – Kolade made this known while featuring on a live Yoruba current affairs program ” Ejire” on Ekiti FM.
Dr. Mojisola Yaya – Kolade stressed on the efforts of Ekiti state government in combating the virus to include setting up of a 40 man task force committee headed by the governor of the state Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.
She reiterated the commitment of the state government to ensure that Ekiti state is free from the virus and stressed that Ekiti state has not received any penny from the federal government contrary to some speculations around.
The commissioner frown at dissemination of false rumor on COVIC19 which she described as a way of engineering panic in the peaceful state. She urged that general public should only reckon with every information from the authorized source which is the state governor, commissioner for health and any authorised medical practitioners .
She encouraged personal hygiene and clean environment as she urged Ekiti state residents to desist from kissing, handshake, hugs during this period.
Some of the callers on the program Mr. Olawale ogungbe , pastor Joshua, pastor Adeyemi , Alfa Jejelaye and Mrs olowo commended the quick response of the state government to combat the spread of coronavirus to Ekiti state.
The callers urged the men of God to support the state government in their prayers to put an end to the deadly disease called coronavirus and to sensitize their congregation on what to do when they see the symptoms.
