
Olajide Omotayo, a former House of Assembly aspirant for Ekiti East Constituency 1 in the last general election has commended the swift intervention of the honourable members representing Ekiti East Constituency 1&2 over their spirited efforts geared towards power restoration in the affected Constituencies.
Olajide who noted that, the communities in the constituencies have been subjected to total black out owning to government’s negligence in the past. ” This has resulted into difficulties in doing business and setting up indigenous factories.”
According to him, the societal’s plight received more attention after the motion moved by the Ekiti East Constituency 2, legislator, Honourable Akanle Lateef at the floor of the house and was later debated by Hon Juwa Adegbuyi( Ekiti East Constituency 1) and other members sailed through.
” This development is a furtherance to the general belief that, the interrelationship between the executive and the legislature would yield dividends of democracy as a way of reaching out to people during difficult times.
” It is equally a proof that the synergy between the Governor of the State and the legislative arms is for economic prosperity and emancipation of the people from shackles of darkness that has engulfed them for long.”– Olajide explained
While commending the Youths for coming out enmassé to protest the ugly trend, the former aspirant said the agitations of the people have been held and urged them to remain optimistic.
” In demonstration of the ethos of democracy, our youths have came out to tell the government what has been bothering them for long. What I can say now is that their prayers have been answered and all and sundry should be hopeful that the blackout would soon be over.”– He added
He however, urged the government to expedite actions towards final actualization of the electricity project.
