
In continuation of the massive training and retraining of its Public
Servants toward boosting efficiency and service delivery, the Ekiti
State Government has organized a 2-day capacity building programme for
workers in the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during the training programme tagged “Healthy
Lifestyle for Effective Service Delivery”, the State Commissioner for
Local Government and Community Development, Prof. Adio Folayan
reiterated the resolve of the Fayemi-led administration to reform the
Public Service for improved efficiency.
Prof. Folayan added that the focus was to create and sustain an
efficient Public Service, stressing that the administration would
leave no stone unturned towards making the public service compete
favourably with its peers globally.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Ayoola
Owolabi said that the 2-day training exposed the workers to selected
workshop topics such as Work Ethics and Public Etiquette, Record
Keeping and information Management as well as Emerging Health
Challenges: Prevention and Management.
Stressing that the seminar would broaden the understanding of
participants, Owolabi urged them to justify government’s huge
investment on them by giving the programme the deserved attention.
“I want to charge our esteemed participants to listen with rap
attention, cooperate with the Resource Persons during the sessions,
and ask questions on any grey areas so as to justify government’s
huge investment on the training programme”, he stated.
One of the participants, Mrs. Olayode Caroline described the workshop
as an eye-opener, saying that it would definitely increase
productivity in the public service.
She expressed gratitude to Governor Kayode Fayemi for the huge
investment of his administration on training of workers.
