
Justice Corneliius Akintayo (rtd.) has said that all the petitions brought before the panel will be attended to appropriately.
The Chairman, Justice Corneliius Akintayo (rtd) made this known at the maiden sitting of the Ekiti State Judicial Panel of inquiry into allegations of Human Rights Violations against Police Officers, including Officers of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS)) and other person’s sitting Ado Ekiti.
Akintayo stated that the panel has received 22 petitions so far at the beginning of the sitting today which have been slated for mention and all was assigned.
The Jurist reminded the petitioners and their lawyers that the panel will use the mechanism of fair hearing for all parties and evidence that is brought before the panel to support their claim for adjucating their claims.
He called on all the lawyers standing for their clients to avail themselves of the rules of proceedings of the panel which is now available in the Secretariat of the panel for use.
However, the case of Mr. Daramola Abiodun Olusola and Unknown men Case No EK/JPI/19/20 went beyond mentioning after taking an Oath started his submissions personnally.
Daramola Olusola complained that on 19th Oct, 2020 unknown men damaged his 505 Salon car to the tune of N150,000.00 where he packed it beside the road at Dallimore during the ENDSARS Protest.
The petitioner solicited for an assistance for repair to be able to live comfortably and returning to normal life.
The petitioner was requested to bring some documents to support his claim.
