APC EKITI SOUTH RESTATES COMMITMENT TO YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
The All Progressives Congress APC in Ekiti South Senatorial District has resolved to continue to accord improved priority to the welfare of youths of the party so as to enhance their standard of living and give them sense of belonging.
This is part of resolutions reached during a special meeting by the APC Youths Development Committee with all Elected public officials and Political Appointees across the South Senatorial District.
During the meeting which was held at the APC secretariat , Ikere Ekiti between the 9th and 17th of February 2021, participants described youths as the pillar of any organization hence they must be well taking care of so as to harness their energy and potential for sustainable growth and development of the party.
It was also resolved that elected officials and appointees should endeavour to give better attention and support to people at the grassroots in line with the agenda of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
In a remark, the chairman APC South Senatorial District, Chief Akindele Akinbobola commended the Youth Committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Ijidale for organizing such crucial meeting which he said had reawaken the consciousness of everyone to their roles and responsibilities to move the party forward.
He urged the youths to remain committed to party success while he equally urged them to cooperate with the Youth Development Committee which would be meeting them soon so as to resolve on how best their interests could be well captured.
In an interview, the chairman of APC in Ekiti State, Barrister Paul Omotosho appreciated the Youth committee as well as the participants noting that all resolutions reached during the meeting would be properly implemented for the interest of the party.
Barrister Omotoso called for more unity and oneness among all party members irrespective of any situation while he equally appealed to few people who were yet to benefit to be patient as everyone would be duly captured by the present government.
Addressing the participants at the various meetings, the chairman of the APC Youths Development Committee, Hon. Olalekan Ijidale affirmed that the meeting was called to brainstorm and reach a concrete compromise of how to consolidate on the gains of the party.
Hon. Ijidale who appreciated the participants for their various suggestions said the committee would soon meet with all youths across the councils under the districts to notify them of the positive plans for them and to also shed more light to some grey areas regarding the distribution of benefits of the party.
According to Hon. Ijidale, there is the need to enhance the communication gap between the youths and government representatives, while they must also be properly briefed on every action of government and party executives to avoid speculations that could instigate them.
The Governor’s aide also commended the state party chairman, Barrister Paul Omotoso and South Senatorial District Executives under the chairmanship of Chief Akinbibola for the opportunity given to him to serve as chairman of the Youth committee with a promise to continue to contribute his quota to the success of the party.
He equally appreciated the support of the committee members urging them not to relent.
At the meetings encomiums were showered on Governor Kayode Fayemi for his leadership style and sense of patriotism with a promise to support his government and future political ambition due to the confidence reposed in his person.
