
The Ekiti State commissioner for Health
and Human Services, Dr.
Oyebanji Filani, has commended the efforts of the State’s health
workers in ensuring the delivery of quality services to the people of
Ekiti State.
The Commissioner gave this commendation during an inspection and
familiarization tour to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital
(EKSUTH), Central Medical Store and the Hospitals Management Board,
where he met with the leadership of the institutions and other workers.
He further expressed his gratitude to His Excellency, Governor
Kayode Fayemi for his commitment to quality health care service
delivery to the populace as evident in the renovation of the
infrastructure at EKSUTH as well as the recent provision of hospital
equipment for clinical services.
Dr. Filani reiterated the resolve of the Ekiti State Government to
continue to give priority the provision of quality health care for its
people as well as improve service delivery of the Teaching Hospital,
Central Medical Store, Hospitals Management Board and other health
institutions.
“The Executive Governor has continued to show leadership in ensuring
that our health services provide best services according to global
standards. This is evident in the recent structural improvement of
Teaching hospital and our primary health care centres. We are
committed to implementing Mr. Governor’s vision of good quality care
for the people of Ekiti State” he said.
The Commissioner restated that the Dr. Kayode Fayemi led
administration will continue to prioritize the improvement of human
resource for health as a key pillar of the State’s health system, with
assurance that the Government was committed to building a strong
relationship with health workers and would create opportunities to
maximize the productivity of health workers.
In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of EKSUTH, Prof. Kayode
Olabanji commended the Commissioner for his pro-active steps in
visiting the hospital on his resumption of office. He however
commended the Fayemi administration for creating an enabling
environment especially for the School of Nursing and Midwifery which
have recorded 100% success in final year national examinations in the
last three years.
