
The Ekiti State Governor, Dr.Kayode Fayemi has commiserated with Onikoro of Ikoro His royal Majesty Oba Dr. Olarenwaju Adebanji Adeleye JP and the people of Ikoro Ekiti over the fire incident that gutted some of their properties.
The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Biodun Omoleye sympathized with the monarch over the fire incident and assured him of Government support.
“We are here on behalf of his Excellency the Governor of Ekiti State to commiserate with the kabiyesi and the people of Ikoro Ekiti particularly the farmers whose farms where gutted by fire which led to the loss of properties. a lot of farm produce were destroyed”
The land affected over a hundred hectares of land with cash products like cocoa, oil palm, and several other farm produce were destroyed completely by fire. This is calls for sober reflection.”
“The Governor is touched and has directed that a high power delegation be led to commiserate with the Kabiyesi the Olukoro of Ikoro the good people of Ikoro and of cause the farmers whose farm produce were destroyed.
The Governor appealed to the people of Ikoro Ekiti to be very careful with fire or anything that’s combustion as “Fire is not a respecter of anybody. It could destroy everything that one has labored for in life within minutes and this is not limited to farm fire alome. fires could come up in the households, in the working premises and so therefore we are appealing to people that are handling combustible materials particularly fueling stations, our hunters, smokers to be very careful we are living in hard times. He added.
He prayed that this kind of calamity will not befall any part of Ekiti State henceforth.
