Immediately after the pomp and pageantry associated with the inauguration ceremony for the newly sworn-in commissioners, the honourable commissioner was glad to speak howbeit briefly on her vision going forward with the administration.
Below is the excerpts of the interview and an executive summary of her CV.
INTERVIEWER: Congratulations ma, on your new appointment. Quickly let us get to meet you
HON. COMMISSIONER: I am Dr Mrs, Kofoworola Olabimpe Olubisi Aderiye (MNI). Commissioner for Education Science and Technology.
INTERVIEWER: Quickly can you tell us what you intend to bring on board to JKF2?
HON. COMMISSIONER: It is not going to be different from what the government is running, because you cannot have a parallel government so, it is in support of what government is doing and we already have the laid out plans but what is basic is that everything that we do will be knowledge based, will be value driven and will be solution focused so, the issue is not on the input alone it is on the outcome and the solution. In each case we are going to be proactive and at the same time reactive so that we can go back and access what we are doing to access if there is impact because the essence of governance is impact, how are we impacting on the people that the government is suppose to be serving.
INTERVIEWER: it seems like you have always been in the private sector?
HON. COMMISSIONER: I have never been in the private sector, I have always been in the Public Service, so it is never going to be a problem at all, I was a permanent secretary in the ministry of education, I retired as a permanent secretary in the ministry of education and I was a technical adviser to the governor on education so, it is a familiar terrain and I am trusting God and the support of the people.
INTERVIEWER: thank you very much Ma, and congratulation once again.
