The role of a Special Adviser to any government will always be crucial.
Just as the JKF2 Ekiti state government sworn-in a set of new commissioners, same applied to a crop of Special Advisers too.
Architect Tope Ogunleye, just inaugurated as special adviser on special projects and DG Bureau of special projects spoke briefly on his office immediately after the ceremony at the governor’s conference hall.
Below is excerpts of the interview and profile of the esteemed Architect:
Special adviser: I am Architect Tope Ogunleye, I thank his Excellency for this uncommon recognition accorded onto me, as a Special Adviser and DG, Bureau of Special projects. The major focus of my office is going to be, timely and quality driven deliverable of our public buildings. Especially those that would fall under special projects.
We are going to make sure that from the inception i.e award of contract to the execution and to the commissioning, we shall make sure that we follow due process to the latter.
Timely and quality delivery would be the hallmark in all our projects in the state. Particularly special building project.
Thank you very much.
INTERVIEWER: Alright sir, as a private sector person, how do you intend to balance government bureaucracy?
Special adviser: Thank you very much, the portfolio at hand in my opinion does not really have anything to do with public or private sector differences, it is all about discharging of duties through quality professionalism, that is what I stand for and that’s would be the signature of BSP.
INTERVIEWER: Okay sir, what do you intend to bring on board now that you have been called to serve?
Special adviser: I just said it now, we are going to ensure timely and quality delivery in all the State’s projects. Right from the time of contract award, through the execution and the commissioning of the projects.
