Last weekend, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye dedicated a 12-floor building situated in Victoria Island, Lagos and owned by the church. The structure, one of the most talked about in recent times, is called the Trinity Tower because of the unity of the three towers of the building, combined into a structural beauty and functionality, offering the best of environments for business and leisure.
Funded by the City of David, a parish of RCCG under the leadership of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Trinity Tower was built by ITB Nigeria Limited, a building and civil engineering firm owned by the Chagoury Group. The Chagoury Group is run by two brothers: the famous Gilbert Chagoury who is the chairman of the group and Ronald, the Chief Executive Officer.
It is instructive to note that the group is the major financier of the obscenely expensive Eko Atlantic, a new coastal city, and several other business concerns in Lagos and across Nigeria. It took ITB Engineering all of 30 months to complete the edifice with the first phase dedicated mid last year. The building comes with a rooftop swimming pool flanking a helipad, 14 functional lifts, a multi-storey car park on split levels for approximately 673 cars, gymnasium and wellness centre, medical centre, recreation zone, ATM gallery, 5000-seater concert hall with automated and integrated lighting, sound and video system and state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities suitable for live broadcast. There is also indoor amusements for children, a retail facility, two cinema halls, recreational theme park and shopping centre.
In addition, the edifice has a rooftop terrace, electric car chargers and smart access control, tenant-dedicated external garden terraces protected by a lattice framework among others. With a rental income that is expected to surpass N2 billion per annum, the church authority plans to spend it all on charity as part of its corporate social responsibility.
At a full dedication service, which had in attendance, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, an acclaimed pastor, Tonye Cole who is also a governorship aspirant in Rivers State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, among several other dignitaries, some people who were instrumental to the vision and construction of the tower but passed on before it was completed, were honoured. Some of them include Pastor Eskor Mfor, Pastor Felix Taggert, Deji Tinubu, Alex Nwejora, Muyiwa Opaleye, Bintang Ifeoma Saulawa, Uchechi Okoli etc. Indeed, the Trinity Tower resonates with the slogan of the City of David parish which is, ‘Where the love of God reigns, where dreams come true, where legends are born and tomorrow’s history is experienced today.’
