
Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government and Community
Development, Prof. Adio Folayan has advised workers in the State to
give the forthcoming promotion exercise a wide publicity it deserves
to allow every qualified staff get informed and adequately prepeared.
Prof. Folayan who gave the advice in a meeting with the staff of the
Ministry in his office stressed that though the present administration
is committed to the welfare and the advancement of workers, it would
not compromise on issue of competence.
The Commissioner emphasised that the promotion exercise would be
strictly merit-based adding that the focus was to eliminate all forms
of nepotism and promote professionalism in the public service.
Folayan said that the Fayemi-led administration is committed to
elevating and sustaining efficiency in the public service and would
completely reform the public service to global standard.
He also urged workers to see the promotion examination as an avenue to
refresh their knowledge, stressing the importance of self-development
to improve individual awareness and identity, develop talents and
potentials, build human capital and facilitate employability.
Folayan said the exercise would equally assist to boost quality of
life and ability to contribute to the realization of dreams and
aspirations.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Sola
Ogunmiluyi thanked the Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for the approval of
2018/2019 workers promotion which would be conducted very soon.
Mr. Ogunmiluyi assured that workers will continue to support the
Fayemi-led administration and always pray for its success.
