Some political stakeholders have warned the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) against accepting the possible defection of Kayode Fayemi, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), amid growing speculation that he may be considering a move to the opposition party.
The stakeholders expressed concerns that admitting Fayemi into the party could trigger internal tension and raise questions about loyalty, ideological direction, and leadership balance within the NDC.
They argued that high-profile defections, while politically significant, must be carefully managed to avoid destabilising party structures or sidelining existing members.
Fayemi, a former governor of Ekiti State, has not officially confirmed any plans to leave the APC, but rumours of his possible defection have continued to circulate within political circles.

I hope that Peter Obi @PeterObi , Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM, and Senator Dickson @iamHSDickson will not be too politically unaware and naive to allow a green snake sneak into their wet, green grass. I strongly believe that Fayemi is Tinubu’s presence personified.’’
