A journalist, Stanley Nkwazema, who was arrested alongside 13 persons for allegedly posing as security personnel while they raided the home of Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili, has spoken on his involvement in the case.
Nkwazeme, who was disowned by THISDAY as a staff and columnist, spoke at the parade of suspects in the case.
The suspects were paraded by the Force Public Relations Officer, Commissioner of Police Frank Mba.
According to Nkwazema, he was told by someone that dollars were statched in Odili’s house.
He noted that he came to the gathering on his own free will as a news man and not as one of those conducting the raid.
He said: “My involvement in this is that Barrister Alex (Onyekuru) called me and told me that there is a lead of a scoop of an asset to a fount that he claim to be in the house that moody is residing that involves millions of dollars.
“What he said was that Nigeria is owing a large amount of money backed in some people’s houses.
“That was when he told me about his worries and he asked me to find out and I was following Lawrence.
“The day we had the first meeting, I found discrepancies in that meeting and I asked him that how can an AG (Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami) sign the identification of a police.
“Is it from the office of the aide or from where you claim to work and he said no?”
Nkwazema stated that he interrogated the man and got into an argument and problem with him.
He said: “I found out again from him from my interrogation and what I was packaging to work on.
“I asked him where he trained as a police man and I got in problems with him.
“He said he was in Wudi and I told him that there is no Police College in Wudi, Kano State.
“Then he said he didn’t finish in Wudi but in Jos.”
