
The Leader of the Senate, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has expressed profound sympathy with the people of Ijero-Ekiti following the devastating rainstorm that struck the community on the evening of Wednesday, February 11, causing significant destruction to homes and properties.
Senator Bamidele described the incident as deeply unfortunate and a painful experience for the affected families and the entire Ijero-Ekiti community. He noted that natural disasters of such magnitude demand compassion, swift response, and collective efforts to bring relief to victims.
In a statement released to the media, the Senate Leader extended his heartfelt condolences to the traditional ruler of Ijero-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Joseph Adebayo Adewole, the Owa Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti, as well as to all residents who suffered losses as a result of the rainstorm.
“I am deeply saddened by the reports of the destruction caused by the rainstorm in Ijero-Ekiti,” Senator Bamidele stated. “My thoughts are with the families, individuals, and business owners affected by this disaster.
