
Security of lifes and property is government’s focus therefore, the need to beef up security levels across Ekiti State is prioritised, the government has set up the State’s arm of the “Committee on Implementation and Operations of Western Security Network” also known as Amotekun.
The Committee, Chaired by Special Adviser on Security, Rtd Brig. Ebenezer Ogundana, is saddled with the responsibility to coordinate security operatives in the state for effective protection of lives and properties of the people of Ekiti State as recommended from the Security Summit organised by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria Commission (DAWN)
Rtd. Brig. Ogundana, after the inaugural meeting with top security chiefs in the state, said that the committee has outlined relevant areas of security concerns in the state as well as itemising the equipment, vehicles and other security apparatus needed for operations.
He also mentioned that the committee consists of representatives from all security agencies in the state namely; The Brigade Commandant, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Services, Head of Operations, Civil Defence Corps amongst others.
