How can a journalist who has no control, influence or power try to overthrow Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State. This typifies a case of giving the dog a bad name to hand it.
Meanwhile he’s been in and out of court on a daily basis yet the puerity and baseless case is yet to be thrown out.
Nigeria is a bundle of contradiction, all the killer herdsmen and so called bandits are yet to be apprehended and none of them have been tried for acts of terrorism meanwhile a journalist who demanded accountability from a Governor has been branded a terrorist.
Some Governor’s are worse than Buhari; we often try to condemn the terrible acts of the Federal Government but it as dawned on me that the State Governor’s are worse of. Despotic and tyrannical leaders fear the press and the media. Ben Ayade and the social media are two strange bed fellows, no wonder he proclaimed a decree that sought to regulate how members of his cabinet use the social media platform. He went ahead to issue threats for those found culpable.
Imagine if the likes of Ayade becomes the President what he will do to free speech and under fundamental human rights guaranteed by the constitution. Infact the hypocrisy demonstrated by the characters in the Orwelian, Animal Farm would be a child’s play.
