Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu today unveiled the new Practice Building and Cardiac Diagnostic Centre of HICI Healthcare Limited located in Lekki area of the state.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady described the development as a progressive leap in the bid to ramp up healthcare delivery in Lagos, just as she urged residents to pay closer attention to their health.
“Even as the world is grappling with COVID-19 pandemic, with threats of Delta variant of the infectious disease, we must also not lose sight of the silent epidemic of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) including Cardiovascular Diseases, Cancers, Chronic Respiratory Diseases, Diabetes, and Mental Health Disorders, among others.
“It has been established by medical experts that NCDs remain the world’s biggest killers. We must all pay closer attention to our health and this is why today’s launch of Cardiac Diagnostic Centre is certainly a cheering news and development that should be and must be applauded.
“Hearty congratulations to the Chief Executive Officer of HICI Healthcare Limited, Dr. Greg Ohihoin; the Managing Director, Dr. Esther Ohihoin and indeed the members of staff.
“It is hoped that the facilities will greatly help to ensure a healthy population, cost-effectiveness and most importantly quality of care to patients of the hospital,” she said.
