Impossible Does Not Exist (LEAP 22)
Last week was simply AMAZING!
I know many have read about the LEAP GLOBAL TECH EVENT that took place in Riyadh KSA from the 1st to the 3rd of February.
-Over 100,000 people visited the Riyadh Front (venue of the event) within 3 days.
-$6.4bn of deals announced…
-700+ relevant global exhibitors…
-330 investors with $156bn in funds…
-Participation from 129 countries…
-Over 500 global speakers…
I will forever appreciate the hospitality, generosity, and courtesy shown to all by the Saudi’s.
We were invited by the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
The Saudi-led DCO was established in 2020 by seven member states to drive greater collaboration and cooperation across entrepreneurship, innovation, business growth, and employment in a shared digital economy.
Its seven founding member nations are Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Nigeria Oman, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Our participation at the event was facilitated and sponsored by NCC (special appreciation to Babagana Digima for his excellent execution).
New business partnerships were formed and deals were made…
We saw emerging innovations and made a lot of new friends.
A few things struck me;
-The level of technological innovation around the world is MIND BLOWING…
-The ambition of the Saudi government to diversify its economy from oil and its drive for accelerating investments in emerging technologies around the world is second to none.
The startup ecosystem in the MENA region is really impressive.
Insha’Allah, in the next few weeks we will be posting on the opportunities entrepreneurs in Nigeria have as founding members of the DCO…
We will talk about the Startup Passport Initiative launched by the DCO at the event.
And while we were busy with the LEAP event in Riyadh…
Across the Atlantic, Efosa Ojomo, co-author of the bestselling book Prosperity Paradox (one of the most impactful books I have read in my life), and senior fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute in Boston Massachusetts, wrote an excellent article on one of our companies, RiceAfrika.com, work on improving rice production in Africa.
Find the time and read below;
Whatever it is that you are doing, just do it well and stay focused.
If we can do it, you too can.
I am a living example that with God, Impossible Does Not Exist.
May we constantly remain thankful to the many many favors of our Lord upon us.
And, we are just getting started…
Already warming up for LEAP 23, Insha’Allah…
