At the meeting of the Ekiti State Executive Council held on the 26th of February, 2020,Governor Kayode Fayemi and the Executive Council have approved the following projects;1. The rehabilitation of Igbara Odo – Ibuji Road for the sum of N322, 761,710.53. The project will also include patching of damaged portions of the road, starting from Ado-Ekiti, and also other extra works.2. Asphalt production, and rehabilitation of EkitiTownship roads. The sum of N100, 000,000.00 was approved for the commencement of the project which will be on-going throughout the year 2020.
Also approved was the Regulatory Unit Strategic Plan 2020-2022, which will serve as the guide for the functions of the established Regulatory Unit under the Ministry of Infrastructure & Public Utilities with respect to Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS).
The Contract for the rehabilitation of the Oye-Ikun-Otun road project that was flagged off in January 2020, was revoked by the Executive Council, due to the contractor’s refusal to fully mobilize to site, and commence work. The Executive Council approved the re-award of the contract to a new contractor with dispatch, due to the shortness of time left in the dry season.
