Archbishop Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, along with his wife, son, and four other clergymen, fell victim to a brazen kidnapping incident in Anambra State. The abduction occurred on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, as the group was en route to Awka for evangelical duties.
Among those kidnapped alongside Archbishop Osim were his wife, Anne Osim, his son, Roland Uka Osim, and three additional clergymen, Azuka Ochu, Moses Okafor, and Anderson Akwazie, all associated with the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.
The distressing news was confirmed by Bishop Denis Onuoha, the administrator of the spiritual organization in Abia State. Despite the passage of four days since their abduction, no communication has been received from the perpetrators, leaving loved ones and followers deeply concerned.
Efforts to obtain a response from the state police command spokesperson, Chinaka Chioma Maureen, were fruitless as repeated calls went unanswered.
