Retrospect!! The Government of Northern Nigeria sponsored the study abroad scheme covered in this book.
The Nigerian Government sent hundreds of young people to study in UK & Ireland between 1960–1966.

This book, found in Kaduna recently, is a catalogue of names and stories of those from the Northern Region.
Many names that would go on to become very familiar. Look at No. 174…

Other names I can see here:
Muhammadu Uwais (Law)
Bamanga Tukur (Transport Admin)
Umaru Shinkafi (Police)
Abubakar Rimi (Political Science)
Miss Aloma Mukhtar (Law)
U. A. Mutallab (Accountancy)
Idrisu Kutigi (Law)
Umaru Dikko (Mathematics)
Mamman Daura (Economics & Politics)
No fewer than 4 of these people went on to become Chief Justice of Nigeria, including Aloma Mukhtar, the only female CJN in our history. Kano father, Bauchi mother, born in Lagos, speaks Yoruba so fluently (even better than Hausa) many people assume she’s Yoruba.
