Rinsola Abiola:
This is to formally announce my resignation from the leadership of the APC-Young Women Forum (APC-YWF). I emerged as Ag. President in 2015 and I have fulfilled my mandate of expanding the forum by building structures at zonal and state levels.
It’s been an honour leading so many amazing young women. Succession is a key tenet of democracy and I am hopeful that the new leadership, when elected, will consolidate on the gains recorded during my tenure.
I’m thankful to Madam Sharon Ikeazor for her unwavering support and to other excos, namely: Latifah Aspitah Isah, Shirley Aipoh and Zainab Buba Galadima.
The best part of it all has been meeting all the coordinators across different states. Chinyere, Habiba, Petronilla, Ummulkhayr, Dr. Temmy, Bisoye, Fatima, Ahemen, Rasheedah, Gloria, Folasade, Giddalti, and all the other ladies who inspire me to strive harder.
I believe I’ve made new allies and sisters for life in every corner of this country, and that they will continue to work so that our message resonates with young women across all strata of society.
I wish all our aspirants all the best in the forthcoming primaries (and hopefully, the polls next year).
