The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has lost in several Wards and Polling Units where he was not expected to in Adamawa State.
One of the shocking losses of the ex-Lagos State Governor was that of the Polling Unit of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
The Polling Unit in Yola, 006, in Mbamoi Ward was where Aisha Buhari’s younger brother, Modi Halilu, and the party’s governorship candidate for Adamawa State, Senator Aishatu Binani, cast their votes.
Also, the suspended National Vice Chairman, North-East of the APC, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, lost in his unit.
On his part, the Director of Field Operations of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, lost in Bako Ward to the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The victory of the former boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in his polling unit was not enough to assist the APC candidate to win the presidential election in Yola South Local Government Area.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, lost his Unit 001 in Rumde Ward to the PDP by 73 votes in the presidential election.
In Bako Ward, APC polled 1,530 votes for Tinubu as against Abubakar’s 2,195 for the PDP.
According to a source, the defeat of the APC in the presidential election had to do with protest votes against the trio of Aisha Buhari, Modi and Ribadu.
The source said there had been alleged “unrelenting conspiracy to undermine the only APC gubernatorial female candidate of the party, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani”.
