Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has lost his first of several wives, Ifeoma Ada, to the cold hands of death.
She was aged 61.
She reportedly died in a hospice in the United States of America, where she was being cared for as a result of a ‘brain tumour’, the former governor once claimed she suffered from.
Ifeoma, who was supposed to be his first lady when he was Abia State governor, was hardly ever seen in the state, talk more of being by his side at state functions, as she was always in and out of hospitals in America, as a result of a ‘brain sickness’ she suffered from long before he became governor.
Long before 1999, she was already an out patient
at Brigham and Women Hospital, one of the top hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts.
Announcing her death on his social media page, Kalu described her as a woman of virtue, who was committed to the service of God and humanity.
The bereaved Senator is currently in Maryland, US, where she passed on and where he is making arrangements for her memorial service.
He has asked Nigerians to remember her and her loved ones in prayers during this difficult period.
