17 years today (26th Sept, 2019) since the ‘MV Le Joola’ ship linking #Dakar to Southern part of #Cassamance, capsized off #Gambian waters killing 1,863 people, only 64 survived. It is considered Africa’s worst maritime disaster. A Foundation stone of a memorial was laid during last year’s commemoration in #Ziguinchor.
