Delegates from the South-West States who participated in the just-concluded Heads of Service Summit hosted by Ekiti State Government and DAWN Commission with support from DFID were treated to the awe of Governor Kayode Fayemi led administration’s ongoing projects in the state.
The delegates were taken on a tour of some of the ongoing Infrastructural Projects namely; Civic Centre in Ado-Ekiti, new Ado-Iyin Road, Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, and Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, Ikogosi.
According to Ekiti State Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, the tour avails the state government the opportunity to showcase the efforts of the current administration on infrastructural development.
While at the Civic Centre, Special Adviser on Works, Mr. Sunday Adunmo explained to delegates, the significance and benefits of the project to the people of the state.
“This facility will further boost the socio-economic growth of the state. It will serve as a converging hub of entrepreneurs and consumers of goods and services,” he said.
The proceeded to witness the ongoing work at the new Ado-Iyin road while taking a short trip to the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion to confirm the government’s effort on improved infrastructure in the state.
On arriving at Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, the envoy was received by the Managing Director, High Chief Ayo Ademilua who described the tourists’ attraction as the ‘meeting point of the unusual’ (the meeting point of the hot and cold springs).
He further narrated the myth behind the springs, while acknowledging that the site attracts hundreds of local and foreign tourists annually.
At the end of the tour, the delegates returned to the Government House where they were hosted for a dinner chaired by Ekiti State Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi.
