The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by APC governorship aspirant, Mrs. Abimbola Olawumi, challenging the candidature of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the last APC primary election.
In its ruling, the apex court affirmed the June 18 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which had earlier upheld Governor Oyebanji’s nomination as the party’s candidate.
The decision brings to an end all litigation contesting Governor Oyebanji’s emergence as the All Progressives Congress flagbearer in the primary.
Confirming the judgment, the Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata, SAN, told Radio Nigeria that the Supreme Court’s verdict has finally laid to rest the legal dispute over the APC governorship primary.
“This ruling puts a final seal on the matter. The legal challenges against Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s emergence as APC candidate have now ended,” Apata said.
