Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Wednesday, resolved the Magodo Phase 2 Estate land dispute among warring parties with assurance to ensure fairness, justice, transparency and equity. The United States has warned travellers to Nigeria, especially US citizens, to reconsider their trip as kidnappers now target citizens with dual nationalities. The US State Department’s Nigeria Travel Advisory dated January 4, 2022, noted that US citizens with perceived wealth are also targets for kidnappers. The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has accused the Nigerian Army of inducing steps towards jailbreaks in Ondo State. This is as he condemned, in strong terms, the withdrawal of soldiers of the Nigerian Army from the correctional centres across the state. The Federal Government has imposed a N10 per liter excise duty tax on all non-alcoholic, carbonated and sweetened beverages. The excise duty tax is one of the amendments made in the Finance Act 2022 which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 31 last year. Four inmates on Tuesday reportedly lost their lives in Kosere Correctional Centre, Ile Ife, Osun State during an attempted jailbreak by some of the inmates.
