A group, The Local Contractors of Nigeria, on Monday staged a protest against the non-payment for contracts executed by them across the country. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the protest was held in the Ministry of Finance, Abuja. Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Adejuwon Odumboni as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, disclosed this in a statement he issued on Monday. Adeleye Ajayi, a chairmanship aspirant for the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, says he will adopt a political solution to ensure the union refunds every subscriber of the abortive Pen Jewel Estate project. A former Commissioner of Works in Plateau State, Chris Hassan, has emerged the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state. Major General Amnon Kwaskebe (retd), the Returning Officer of the State Elective Congress, announced the result. Kwaskebe said Hassan, polled 1,649 votes to defeat three other contestants.
